"Timely Reflections" was featured in the de Young Open Exhibition at the de Young Museum in San Francisco, CA.

 

The piece intends to convey an old photographic effect with its smooth textures, black-and-white color scheme, and techniques of shading. It showcases my mom reflecting on her youth as she is about to graduate from high school and move on to college, and I drew this portrait when I found myself in the same situation two years ago getting ready to move to college.
